The Greatest Place On Earth
This past weekend was an entertaining one. Saturday night, after I had gotten off work, Shane and I met up with Katie and her mother for dinner at the Olive Garden. Katie's mother had just finished getting a tattoo on her lower back of a celtic cross. It is very nice! We had cocktails and dinner. I had the garlic shrimp pasta....it was amazing. After dinner we all came back to our place and had a few more cocktails before Katie's mother had to head home. Once she had left we got ready and headed down to McFaddens where we met up with Shawna, Josh, and that whole gang. We had a few drinks there and Katie ended up meeting this guy named Andrew who she thought was really hot and turned out to be very rich...lol. Anywho, there was lots of chatting and dancing, I think I learned a new dance, but I couldn't tell you the song or what the dance was. I spent a few minutes trying to convince Jared to come down and have a few drinks with me, but he was painting his kitchen or something...on a Saturday night?! Let's get serious here. By 12:30, I was pretty tanked and everyone decided to head over to Calico Jack's which I had never been to before. It was pretty much like McFaddens except with a bull. Anywho, I spent the majority of the evening making fun of people with Shawna. There was this girl dancing on the bar with a black bikini on and her fat rolls were just hanging over this poor bikini as it tried desperately to hold everything together. Finally I looked at the girl and said, "I thought black was supposed to be slimming!" She didn't acknowledge me, but she heard me...oh yes. We stumbled back to Katie's car after the bar had closed and made it home just in time for me to pass out into bed.

Sunday morning we woke up and started getting everything together for Katie's jewelery party. Katie's mother and grandmother came over along with Katie's mom's friend, Debbie. My mother and Grandmother came and Vivienne, one of the ladies from work. Around 3:00 we had about 8 women drunk in our living trying on jewelery. It was actually really entertaining. Katie made the most amazing food.

As everyone cleared out, my mother gave me some great news. Since she was able to finally sell the house in the mountains, she is taking Shane and I to Disney World the end of September as a graduation present for me and a birthday present for Shane! Shane and Iw ere so excited we spent the remainder of the evening looking up everything we can on Disney. My mother put me in charge of finding the resort and getting a good price on Disney tickets. I have narrowed it down to three resorts.

Shades of Green a military owned resort on Disney Property across from the Polynesian
The Grand Beach
Summer Bay Resort

I have only ever stayed at Shades of Green, so if anyone knows anything about the other two please let me know.

Anyway, I am super excited and I need a vacation in the worst way.

I need to do this...

It's been pretty slow at work today, so I decided to reminesce (spelling?!) and read my journal posts from days of yore. One that particularly had me laughing today was the entry I posted on 03-05-2004. Although life has been pretty good to me the past couple years, I do miss the parties and the friends. I've read about all the good times I had hanging out with Kristen, Chad, Bobby, Scotty, Shain, Nicholas, and the like and it makes me miss them even more. Kristen, whether you read this or not, my recent attempts to contact you have not been in vain. I do miss our times together and would love to rekindle our friendship.

I have also decided that I need to start writing again. So that the crazy things that happen to me nowadays, can be recorded. My life, for the past couple years, has been pretty much the same routine. Work, School, Home, Bed, Repeat. I am getting ready to graduate school in a little over a month, so now that I will have some extra time, I should have some more interesting things to write about. Now...let's talk about last night for minute.

Last night was the welcome home party for Shawn and Josh. Shawna used to work with me at La Pomponnee, however when her boyfriend, Josh, got a job offer in Jacksonville, they moved down to Florida. They came home for the weekend to go to a wedding. Shane, Katie, and I headed down to the North Side to some apartment in the middle of the Ghetto. Now, the guys throwing this party are all loaded. Why the live in the middle of the Ghetto is beyond me. Since there was a Steeler game yesterday parking in the North Side was next to impossible. We finally find this parking spot on the other side of their building. As we get out of the car, this bitter old black man comes stumbling out of his apartment yelling, "You can park their if you want a $100 fine!" Apparently it was permit only parking although I think the grumpy old man was bullshitting us. So again we drove till we finally found a spot in this back alley. We get to the party and it seriosuly looked like a scene from Varsity Blues. Shawna was super excited to see us! Katie's ex-boyfriend Tim was there, so I had a fun filled evening of giving him dirty looks and wanting to kick his howdy doody looking ass. After a few beers, some sexual happenings, and a game of Cornhole, we headed home for the evening. I passed out around 12:30 before having to get up at 6:30 this morning for work. We are supposed to head down to McFaddens tonight and since I do not have to work tomorrow, good times will ensue.

Do people still read livejournals or has myspace taken over the blogging industry?

I dunno if anyone still reads this, but I felt inclined to give an update on what is going on in my life for those of that i may have lost touch with. Shane and I are STILL together. I was 2 years in June. We are living on Mt Washington and looking to move again in October. I am currently working as a retail manager/spa coordinator/everything else for La Pomponnee Salon & Spa. I can't complain though, I love my job. Never in a million years could I have pictured myself working in a salon, let alone managing one. I am currently attending South Hill Beauty Academy to get my Cosmetology license. Shane and I are moving in to an apartment with my friend Katie, who is a massage therapist for La Pomponnee. As soon as we find a place that is. Living with a massage therapist is going to be the best thing ever. lol. Anyway, if anyone still does read this leave me a comment or find some other way to get in touch with me. You can find me on MySpace!

I should be a psychologist...

So I was bored at work today and I started reading Cosmo. Now I have always been one to help my friends out with their love problems. I have always said, and many will attest to this, that I've always felt relationships progress through three stages: physical, mental, and emotional. Physical, of course, being when you first see someone and are sexually attracted to that person. As you progress through physical stages you get to talking to the person and get to know what they are like on the inside or their Mental state. Finally when you fall in love with the person and enter a serious relationship you enter the emotioal stage. Anyway, I've always said this, for years, and people would either agree with me or, I remember getting into a debate over it because my thinking was too simplistic. As I was saying before, I was reading Cosmo and came across this article on keys to being a happy couple. Apparently I am ahead of my time...

You may think the secrets to happily-ever-after stem from the heart, but actually all those warm and fuzzy feelings are generated through the brain. "Through evolution, the brain has developed three different chemical systems - sexual attraction, romantic yearning, and attachment - to ensure human beings meet the right match and sustain connection over time," explains Helen Fisher, PhD, research anthropologist at Rutgers University and author of Why We Love. "The first draws you to a person; the next motivates you to focus your attention on him; the last enables you to tolerate and stay with a mate long enough to rear children."

SEE!!! I TOLD YOU SO!!!

So it's official. Shane and I have found an apartment on Mt Washington that we like and the rent is cheap. I think it will be exciting to live on Mt Washington. The apartment is cute, but it doesn't look like the previous tennant left it in very good condition. We'll have fun cleaning it up and painting it and making it our own. Our lease starts September 15th. We'll have to have a little house warming party.

Back in the Saddle...for one night only.

So last night Shane and I decided to go to Pegasus. Having not been there in practically I year, I was interested to see if it was still the same. You would think after spending 6 years of my life there and never seeing a change, that I could logically deduce no changes. They painted the stairwell going into the club with big flames and red rope lights that are half burnt out. While walking in, I said, "It really is like walking into hell." The crowd has gotten less attractive...if you can imagine that. I did get to see some old friends like Shawn, Token, JR, Dante, etc. Everyone seemed really happy to see me out...except Shawn. :oP But it's ok, I understand. I tried to get Kristen to come but she already had plans to go to the boardwalk. Don't worry girl, you didn't miss anything. All in all it was nice being out in Pittsburgh again. I can't wait to move back.

Wal-Mart Writes Tragedy

So I finally had some extra spending money and decided to buy Panic! At The Disco's CD. So I go to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things and I grab it. I'm looking at the case thinking to myself, "This doesn't look right." So I checked the song titles on the back and they were all right. I attempted to scan the CD through the little sample player things they have, but it kept saying, "barcode unknown." I figured, what the hell, and bought it and took it home. When I got it home I popped it in the CD player and was thrilled to hear violins and a cello. WTF?! IT was a fucking orchestra playing P!ATD!!! So I took it back to Wal-Mart to tell them it wasn't at all what I wanted and since their stupid machines didn't work I couldn't check it before I bought it. They informed me that since I had already opened the CD, I couldn't return it. Stupid Wal-Mart motherfuckers. I swear the people that work there are all idiots. So I took the shitty CD to FYE and they gave me $6.25 for it which I applied toward buying the real CD.
Needless to say I ended up spending about $20 for a fucking CD.

So last week, I spent the entire week in the Outer Banks with Shane and his family. We had a wonderful time. We spent every day on the beach. We went minigolfing, jetskiing, bodyboarding, parasailing, and climbed this huge 250 ft lighthouse. But most importantly, I got to spend some very much needed time with Shane. All in all it was an awesome trip.

If I don't get too lazy maybe I'll post some pics once I get them developed.

Celebrity Romance

So I had to come into work early today because we are "supposedly" understaffed. Now I am sitting here with my thumb up my ass. I figured I should update everyone on what has been going on this past week. And by "everyone" I mean Kristen, because I think she is the only one who still reads my journal. So Shane and I are pending break up. He met someone else and decided that he doesn't want to be tied down at this point in his life. He is still totally unsure if this is what he wants so that is why we are "pending break up." We haven't spent much time together lately because he has been hanging out with his friend, Emily, and the new boy, BJ...who, coincidentally, is a friend of mine. IMAGINE THAT! A friend of mine stealing one of my boyfriends...ludicrous, I say!!! If I had a dollar... Anyway, Shane still doesn't want me out of his life and he wants the both of us to move back to Pittsburgh and get an apartment together. Apparently, his Grandmother owns some apartments in Squirrel Hill and will rent them to us for half the normal rent. So we're seeing where that goes. I applied for a job with Verizon. I took my first test downtown (and by downtown I mean Pittsburgh) and passed with flying colors. I have to go back Tuesday morning and take a call simulation test. Should be fun. If I get the job with Verizon, it will mean good money, good benefits, and good money...hehe. I will be making anywhere from $436 - $965 a week. Shane decided he wants to go to school for Criminal Justice and everyone knows I do as well. So I think when we move back we will both start taking classes at Western School.

We're leaving for the Outerbanks on next Saturday. I cannot wait!!!! I think a week alone is exactly what Shane and I need to try and work out our problems.

I am trying to be supportive through all of this because I do love him. It has been VERY hard though. He's been with BJ practically every day since Wednesday and when he is not with him, they are on the phone. I don't really understand what he sees in him...then again, I've know BJ since he was 14 so I know why I have never been attracted to him. I told Shane last night, "Go spend time with him, get over him, and get back to me because I don't know how much longer I can do this." I just hope thats how it plays out. lol. Shane told me he can't live without me or he would go insane. That's why he still wants to live together and all that jazz. Saturday he looked at me in the car and said, "You know we're gonna end up getting back together, I just need to work this stuff out." So there's always hope I suppose. I am just writing random shit now.

Anyone who is reading this right now, just take a moment and ask God or Allah or whoever you worship to help me through this and to help bring us back together. I need all the help I can get right now.

Backbeat the word was on the street
That the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before
But you never really had a doubt
I don't believe that anybody feels
The way I do about you now

And all the roads we have to walk along are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would
Like to say to you
I don't know how

Because maybe
You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
And after all
You're my wonderwall

Office Space

Wow, I am actually updating my livejournal. Now that I have internet access at work and some time to do things, maybe I can actually keep up on it. I have decided that the people I work with are very “interesting” to say the least, so why not talk about them and entertain people with their stories.

First, there is Susan…she sits next to me and is probably reading this over my shoulder. She is nutty and likes to harass the shit out of me all day…I think she has a crush on me. She lives at her mothers house with her three boys and her husband who she suspects is cheating on her with a checker at the local grocery store.

Next is Joanne, we all call her Granny. At 65, she is the oldest woman working here but probably the youngest at heart. She drives around in her little red VW Bug, loves going out to the bars, showing off her tattoo, plays on a dart league, and wears Timberlands. She’s the granny everyone wishes their Granny could be.

Cathy, the pot smoking Supervisor, is one of my best friends. Not only is she a Supervisor and pulls strings for me, but she loves to leave work on her lunch breaks and smoke a bowl. Then she comes back into work stoned out of her mind and I entertain myself for the rest of the night freakin her out.

There’s Denise…she’s a bipolar hypchondirac with severe paranoia and low self esteem. What else is there to say?

There’s Mike, he was just promoted the same time I was. He is the epitome of a straight twink. He’s small and fragile but takes every moment of the day to try and convince us that he’s a man…poor poor Mike.

Flip Flop Girl works on another project. No one really knows her name, but we call her Flip Flop Girl because she weighs 400 pounds and every day she is wearing a new pair of flip flops. We’ve decided that she has to wear new flip flops every day because by the time she gets home there’s nothing left of them.

Colleen went through training with me. She’s a big mulatto lesbian with 2 daughters. She spends most of her days harassing me. One day, I snapped and duct taped her down to her seat then duct taped her mouth shut. She wasn’t happy about that.

Last but not least is Sheila, the straight (but God you would SWEAR she is a lesbian if you ever met her) woman. She usually works nights with me but for the past two weeks has gotten her schedule changed to work days. She’ll be back to nights next week. She is one of my buddies. We went out drinking a couple of weeks ago and after her futile attempts at introducing me to girls, she said in a drunken stuper, “You don’t have to hide it from me anymore. This is Sheila, I ain’t stupid, I know you’re a gay.”

I will bring other characters into the story as it unfolds.

Yesterday was a crazy day. Susan spent the majority of the day arguing with her husband on the phone about Autumn, the valuptuous cashier at the grocery store. Supposedly a lady came in to the store that looked like Susan and Autumn called Susan’s husband to tell him she was checking up on her. Susan's man was not happy.

We had a floor meeting with our Project Manager, Chrissy. Chrissy is a cute little black girl who I constantly give a hard time too. We argue over the stupidest shit just for fun. Anyway, during the meeting she stated that many of the supervisors were coming back to her complaining about agents drinking drinks that were not in spillproof containers, agents were not sitting properly in their chairs (with both feet on the floor), and agents were going on break without clocking out. After the meeting, Chrissy and the rest of the supervisors retreated back to her office to sit incorrectly in their chairs and drink out of non-spillproof containers.

Denise and I got into a fight because she wasn’t doing any work. Instead she felt the need to relax and play online games all day. I went to her supervisor to inform her of the situation. After speaking with Denise for a length of time about her internet usage, Denise then beat level 3 of Alchemy. Once she was bored with her games she picked up a book and began reading. TAKE A FUCKING HINT! I started doing her work for her which led to a half hour lecture by Denise informing me of how she doesn’t like people helping her with her work because it makes her look bad and she is worried that people are going to steal her productivity from her.

Anyway, that’s it for now. When something amusing happens, I’ll be sure to write about it.

What the Fuck Does Auld Lang Syne Mean?

Well here it is, 2006. You know it's been awhile since you've updated your livejournal when you log on and the entire website has changed. Well let me start off by saying it has been one hell of a year and a surprising year at that. I never imagined half the things that have happened to me this year would have ever happened. Here's a few highlights:

-NYC/Fashion Week/Kristen's Birthday/Crobar/Need I say more...
-The Death of Vivica
-The Birth of Elsie
-Meeting Shane
-Meeting Sara, Natalie, Mandy, Laura, & Gemma
-Being Engaged for 2 hours.
-The boardwalk, an entire paycheck, 5 bottles of champagne, and a riot.
-Playing repo man with Kevin.
-Angel's Nightclub
-The Bus!
-Cuban Mafia
-Mike Jones!
-Mr. & Mrs. Gregory Bokoch (Mom's Wedding)
-My first apartment
-Cruising through SRU in Chad's Lexus.
-Cruising through the Caribbean
-Walking on the beach in the Caymen's listening to Heaven by Los Lonely Boys
-Black Sunday

Things are going well. The apartment is finally coming together, work is enjoyable, and im making a few new friends and rekindling some old friendships. Don't get me wrong, I still miss all of my friends in Pittsburgh and I warn you...I will be back eventually. However, I would love it if a some of you would come down and visit. You are welcome any time. Well, the family is bugging me to quit being antisocial so I guess I should get going.

Merry Belated Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Finally, An Update...

Several people have been yelling at me for not updating my livejournal in so long and since I have some time to spare this afternoon I thought I would sit down and tell you all what has been going on in my life...A LOT!

Shane and I got back together about 2 weeks ago. He has been staying with me at Kevin's. Everything has been great considering we spend every day together. We have yet to fight. We get along so well. I love him so much. He doesn't realize how much he means to me, but he will soon enough.

Since Shane and I have gotten back together we are also moving in together. We looked for a couple apartments in Pittsburgh and really couldn't find anything we liked. While visiting Uniontown for my mother's birthday, Shane told me that he would like to live in Uniontown. So we both decided to look for places there. The way I look at it, cost of living is cheaper and it will just be nice to get the hell out of the city. I only moved to Pittsburgh to meet someone. Now that I have done that, it's time to concentrate on making money and starting a career.

I am going to miss all of my Pittsburgh friends, but don't fret, I will still be in Pittsburgh often to visit. In fact, it will probably be like I never left. I am looking forward to starting my life with Shane here in good ol' Uniontown. I have been applying for jobs everywhere and getting called in for interviews, so hopefully I will get something worth while.

So thats whats new with me. Leave me some love!
